Commissions

Commissioned work represents an exciting challenge: to balance the needs of the site, the architect or designer’s vision, the customer’s budget and my own artistic sensibility within the constraints of time and material. It’s a process full of discovery and invention. Please feel free to contact Amy Brier Sculpture
info@amybrier.com with your project ideas.

SELECTED FINE ART & ARCHITECTURAL COMMISSIONS

THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN THE DIVINE

Amy was lucky, early in her career, to spend six years working closely with other carvers and masons on the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. With a lot of freedom to design within the English perpendicular Gothic style, her team ornamented the south tower on the west front.

THE JEWISH MUSEUM

Existing architectural additions can be enhanced. Here, a circa 1990 modern addition to a neo-Gothic mansion required a facelift to integrate features and carvings from the original turn of the 20 century style building.

WHITE RIVER GARDENS

In this semi-public garden attached to the Indianapolis Zoo, hummingbirds and butterflies fill the air around The Four Seasons, a permanent installation in which the featured Roliquery ä —and the pattern in the sand—change with the seasons.

PRIVATE COLLECTION

This piece, commissioned for a private art collector, uses thick fused glass in a limestone frame. It’s beautiful in sunlight, but still more beautiful at night, when strategic backlighting creates a burst of color in the darkness.
